Who We Are

Transitions Family Violence Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating domestic violence in Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and York County. We are the sole provider of comprehensive services to adult and child victims of domestic violence. Since 1977, we have been a pathway to safety and a source of hope for thousands of individuals and families.

Our Mission/Vision

The mission of Transitions Family Violence Services is to build safe and healthy families on the Virginia Peninsula by providing services to adult and child victims of domestic violence. We work to increase awareness by providing education, prevention programming and opportunities for community members to participate in our mission.

We envision a community that supports healthy relationships and violence-free life.
