Court Advocacy Program

Navigating through the legal system can be difficult and confusing. Transitions Family Violence Services provides assistance to individuals experiencing domestic violence, stalking or human trafficking in Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and York County.

Transitions Family Violence Services offers emergency shelter at an undisclosed location for adults and children fleeing domestic violence. The emergency shelter offers a trauma-informed supportive environment focused on healing. Survivors can access care coordination, counseling, safety planning and
community resources.

Counseling Program

Counseling can be instrumental in helping a survivor overcome the trauma experienced in an abusive relationship and move forward. Counseling is available for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking whether it occurred recently or in the past.  Sessions are offered to individuals and groups.

We believe that knowledge is key and that together with an informed community we can eliminate domestic violence. We strive to engage, educate and inspire community members to join us in this belief. We offer a range of free trainings, presentations and workshops to spread awareness about domestic violence.
