Transitions Family Violence Services was founded by volunteers in 1977 and volunteers remain an integral part of Transitions’ work and play a vital role in our day-to-day operations and activities. Last year 69 volunteers provided more than 8,000 hours of service.
Volunteering for Transitions will not only change your life, it will help to change the lives of children and adults who have been affected by domestic violence. Your time, talents and dedication can help someone regain their self-esteem and independence and start them on the path to a violence-free future. Whether you are interested in crisis intervention on our 24-hour hotline, our children’s program, community education or any other advocacy area, there is a place for you fulfill your desire to serve.
Our 32-hour training course includes an orientation to the agency, its history, programs, and structure, as well as training and hands-on experience in client service delivery.
