Our
29-bed, handicapped accessible Emergency Shelter
is located in a confidential location on the Virginia
Peninsula and is highly secured. Trained staff and
volunteers help clients gain admission and arrange
transportation to the shelter and help families get
settled once they arrive. If you need shelter
services, please call our 24-hour HOTLINE at 723-7774
to speak to a trained and understanding volunteer. Clients
and their children may stay up to 30
days in the Emergency Shelter.
Our Second Stage shelter is a 22-bed
short-term shelter where families can stay for up to 180 days as they work toward finding
employment and housing or achieve financial or
educational goals. This shelter is also in a
confidential location and is highly secured.
At our Next Step program, a transitional
shelter located in Hampton, we provide one, two and
three bedroom apartments (39 beds) for residents working
toward independent lives. Clients must contribute a
percentage of their income toward rent while employed,
completing training or working toward a degree.
